In memory...

One of my best friend's mother died this past Sunday, Easter. Ironic? Perhaps.
She had had a long fight with cancer, for the second time, and finally, "it is finished."

Isn't it comforting to know that she's now a peace after such a long struggle. It simply makes me wonder what I would do.

You ask my friend, Brady, and he would say that "everything's good, how are you??" He never has labored over the chores and burden he bore during this whole process. He never once complained, asked for help or felt sorry for himself. He always wanted to be sure that "you" were OK and if he could help you. Never selfish, self serving or conceited. Ask Brady what you could do to help and he would simply say either "nothing" or "just pray."

I hope that when time comes for me to be in this situation that I can do it with such a loving heart and honest intentions.

This situation remind you of any other relationship that you know of?? Ironic it was Easter..I think not.

I think it was appropriate. His mom was surrounded by her family and friends, suffering in her worldly being and then in a moment of final struggle, gone. Now she, unlike Christ, won't return but you can bet for sure that she is in His loving embrace and hopefully, just hopefully, looking down on her son as Jesus does on us; pain free, thankful for our existence, and waiting to see us at His side.

Remember what Easter is about. Remember those around you that you love but more importantly remember Easter and the sacrifices one particular "friend" gave for you.
