Man the roads were wide open this AM. Usually you can count on at least one good traffic jam coming into town but today.....ghost town. What's this all about...?
I was looking for my keys this morning. I always hang them on the hook by the door. I check the counter.. .no luck. Ask the wife..."I don't know where they are" she says. Check my dresser...no luck. Ask the wife,"seen my keys?" "Nope" she says. Pants from yesterday?? Nothing. "You sure you haven't seen my keys?!?" "NO!! for the third time, I haven't seen your keys!!"
SO, I sit down to eat a bite. Toast and juice. Thinking through the last 12 hours or so.
What did I do?? I took a walk out into the yard, thinking and trying to retrace my footsteps...my actions.
Picking up what I'm putting down? Jesus didn't lose his keys, but he did lose his life today. In the course of actions He was denied three times, then in the nicest of settings, apprehended and taken before the courts, convicted, and on this day: crucified, dead and buried.
Now, do really think that all the folks who stayed home taking the day off are worthy of such? I did find those keys. Got to enjoy the wide open roads too.
Truly a Good Friday!
